Join us on a 6 night / 7 day 4WD Tag-a-long adventure to Dirk Hartog Island and discover the Gascoyne’s growers produce from freshly caught seafood, locally grown fruit & vegetables, to unique bush tucker. Experience stunning local cuisine prepared by Chef’s from Western Australia at breathtaking locations on Dirk Hartog Island. Sunset drinks on top of 600ft high cliffs before enjoying your evening meal at the most western point of Australia.

Adventure Starts & Ends: Hamelin Station Stay
This adventures explores the islands natural history, unique flora & fauna and breathtaking landscapes. The wildflowers will be on show, humpback whales jumping and fish biting!
Sunday 6th August: Our tour begins at Hamelin Outback Station Stay with an afternoon tea and tour briefing before settling down for sunset drinks and a BBQ dinner. (Included in package: Camping site, afternoon tea, sunset drinks (wine & beer) and BBQ dinner)
Monday 7th August: The day begins with a hot cuppa and a group photo before setting off to meet the Dirk Hartog Barge at Shelter Bay, Steep Point. The barge transfers take approximately 15 mins per vehicle and once on the island, its approx. a 40 minute drive to the Homestead Camp Grounds. The Campgrounds have hot water showers, toilets and a rustic limestone camp kitchen with a fire pit. Everyone gets ocean view sites with an ever changing array of marine life cruising past. The afternoon is free time to setup camp before sunset nibbles, drinks and a gourmet Explorers Surf & Turf BBQ dinner at the Eco Lodge. (Included in package: Steep Point access permits, Barge transfers, camp ground permits, evening meal. BYO alcohol).
Tuesday 8th August: A well earned sleep in before meeting at the Eco Lodge for morning tea and a tour of the old wool shed and our solar power system. Relax with scones, jam and cream. Spend the afternoon walking the beach’s or looking for the endemic bird life near the lodge. (Optional fishing trip: limited availability) Meet at the Eco Lodge at 5.30pm for sunset drinks and a seafood BBQ. A Guest speaker will discuss the World Heritage Values of the Island and the Return to 1616 project. (included in package: morning tea, seafood BBQ dinner and camping permits. BYO alcohol)
Wednesday 9th August: It’s a big day driving to Cape Inscription and checking out the Return to 1616 project. Visit Dampier’s Landing, Turtle Bay and Mystery Beach. Return to Homestead Camp grounds for sunset drinks and dinner at the Eco Lodge. (Included in package: guided tag a long tour, evening dinner. BYO alcohol)
Thursday 10th August: A free morning before taking a guided tag a long tour to Herald Heights. It’s a 40 min drive taking in huge sand hills and amazing landscapes. The Last Sunset: Sunset dinks & nibbles is served on top of 600ft high cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean. Western Australian Brew’s and Stew’s dinner at Herald Heights before returning to the Homestead Camp Grounds. (Included in package: guided tag a long tour, nibbles and dinner, beer & wine)
Friday 11th August: A morning guided tag a long tour to visit the Blow Holes and Surf Point marine sanctuary before returning to the Homestead Camp. Join the ‘On Dirk’s Dinner Plate – Long Table Lunch’ at the Eco Lodge. (included in package: guided tag a long tour, long table lunch. BYO alcohol)
Saturday 12th August: A busy morning packing up before departing the island via the Hartog Explorer. You will be escorted back to Hamelin Outback Station Stay. Arriving mid afternoon. (included in package: barge transfers and tag-a-long guided tour)
