Dirk Hartog Island is to become part of the Shark Bay National Park. Therefore the island’s management is working together with the Department of Environmental Conservation to control the feral animals on the island and to protect the native flora and fauna!
Be aware that the DEC is processing feral cat control throughout the year and take notice of the signs put up around the island. Guests are requested to minimise visitation in the study area and not interfere with any of the baits or monitoring devices used during this trial.
Please be aware of signs indicating potential shooting programs on the island and keep away from these areas!
Children should be supervised all the time!
