How to get to Dirk Hartog Island

Guests can access the island by either charter boat or via light aircraft.

Access Via Denham

By Boat

Return boat transfers from Denham to Dirk Hartog Island are arranged upon booking.  Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes aboard the Eendracht.  Guests are required to be at the Denham jetty at 1.30pm ready for a 2pm departure.

By Air

A light aircraft can be arranged to transfer passengers direct from Monkey Mia Airport to Dirk Hartog Island airstrip.  Flight time is approximately 15 minutes. The aircraft can seat up to 6 passengers with limited luggage.

Access Via Steep Point

By Island Barge

A landing barge is available to transfer 4WD vehicles from Steep Point to Dirk Hartog Island on weekends.  The landing barge carries one vehicle at a time and takes approximately 15 minutes to cross the waters of South Passage.
